On December 27,2019, Tesla’s first V3 supercharging pile in China was officially opened to the public. The V3 supercharging pile adopts full liquid cooling design, and the high power of 400V / 600A can increase the range of 250 kilometers in Model3 15 minutes. The arrival of V3 means that electric vehicles will once again break the limit in terms of energy supplement efficiency.
At the same time, the MIDA buried full liquid cooling supercharging system is being deployed and installed, and it will be powered up at the supercharging site in Germany two months later. Different from Tesla V3 full liquid cooled charging pile, MIDA buried charging pile supports a high power output of 1000V / 600A, and the maximum power is twice that of Tesla V3 supercharging pile.
Buried-type full-liquid-cold charging pile
The advantages of all liquid cooled supercharging piles are well known in the industry. In addition to fast charging speed, more reliable equipment failure rate and low environmental friendly noise, which can bring better charging experience to operators. The core of all-liquid-cooled supercharging pile lies in the liquid-cooled charging module, which is just like the pearl on the crown of the industry. The liquid-cooled charging module has a high technical threshold. Therefore, there are only a few enterprises with the strength to launch all-liquid-cooled charging pile in the industry and actually deploy it in batches.
01 V2G and full liquid cooling charging
The liquid-cooled charging module is no different from the traditional air-cooled charging module in the electrical principle, but the key is the heat dissipation mode. Air cooling, as the name suggests, is done with a fan; but liquid cooling is different, considering the close contact between the coolant and the heating device and the conductivity without any contact with the electrical components; and the design from the liquid cooling module to the full liquid cooled charging pile requires high thermal design capability of the system development team. In the early stage, domestic module enterprises were not optimistic about liquid cooling modules, which were difficult to develop and invested many resources. Compared with traditional air-cooled modules, the cost of liquid cooling modules was too high. In the case of fierce competition in domestic module price, the development could be accepted by the market.
Blade-type liquid-cooled charging module
Since the liquid cooling module does not need a fan and relies on the coolant to dissipate heat, can the charging pile be designed into a closed iron box and then buried in the ground, only exposing the charging gun on the ground? This saves space, is environmentally friendly and very high. Different from the traditional split design of Tesla’s full liquid-cooled supercharging pile, our full liquid-cooled supercharging pile adopted this imaginative design at the very beginning. The charging module adopts the blade design, which is easy to plug and unplug, while the charging pile is buried. The user only needs to insert the gun and scan the code to start the high-power overcharge. The heat dissipation of the system is also very delicate, the use of local cooling, or the use of fountains, water pipes and other external water to heat.
Buried-type full-liquid-cold charging pile
The buried system was originally aimed at overseas customers, and once it was launched in 2020, it was well received by customers. At present, the largest liquid cooling supercharging station in Europe is the batch deployment of the buried all liquid cooling supercharging pile, and the site has become a local web celebrity site.

With the actual needs of customers, then let the product innovation come more bar! In 2021, Infinlaunched a liquid-cooling module at the same end of the 40kW hydropower station. The design of this module is similar to the traditional air-cooling module. The front of the module is the handle, and the rear is the water terminal and electric terminal. When installing the module, you only need to push the module inside to install it in place. When removing it, you only need to hold the handle to pull the module out of the plug box. At the same time, the water terminal adopts the design of “positioning self-closing”, which does not need to worry about leakage. When installing and removing the module, there is no need to remove the coolant in the liquid cooling circuit in advance, so that the maintenance time of the module is reduced from the traditional 2 hours to 5 minutes.

At the same time, we also launched a 240kW integrated liquid-cooled charging pile. The system adopts a two-gun design, with a single maximum output of 600A, which can overcharge passenger cars on 400V platform. Although the power is not very high, but this system has high reliability, very low noise, simple and light charging, it is very suitable for office area, community, hotel and other high-quality places deployment and use.
Integrated all-liquid-cold charging pile
The domestic market demand for full liquid cold overcharge is late, but the trend is more fierce. The domestic demand is mainly from oems. OEems need to provide customers with better supercharging experience when launching their own high-end support high-power supercharging models. However, the current public charging infrastructure does not support liquid-cooled supercharging (the national standard is not perfect), so they can only play and build their own supercharging network.
This year, Geely launched the extreme krypton 001 based on the vast platform, equipped with a 100kWh battery pack, up to 400kW charging power. At the same time, it also launched the extreme charging liquid-cooled supercharging pile. Geely became the pioneer of self-built liquid-cooled supercharging stations by domestic oEMS.
03 In order to meet the needs of oEMS, in 2022, we took the lead in launching a 40kW liquid-cooled power conversion module with IP67 protection level, including ACDC module and DCDC module. At the same time, we launched the 800kW ultra-high power split full liquid-cooled energy storage charging system.
The shell of 40kW liquid-cooled electric energy conversion module is designed as die-cast aluminum, with excellent heat dissipation performance. The power protection level can reach IP67, with excellent explosion-proof, flame retardant and pressure resistance performance, which can be applied in various special or vehicle specification level application scenarios.
The 800kW full liquid cooled energy storage supercharging system adopts the separate warehouse design, which is composed of power distribution warehouse, power warehouse and heat dissipation warehouse. Power warehouse is the core of the whole liquid cooled energy storage supercharge system, according to the actual scenario distribution demand configuration liquid cooled ACDC module (grid) or liquid cooled DCDC module (energy storage battery), distribution warehouse with ac bus and dc bus, according to the configuration of the module to match the distribution unit, this scheme can realize the ac input and battery dc input at the same time, reduce the high power liquid cooled supercharge pressure on the distribution network.
Full-liquid cooling energy storage and supercharging system
Different from the full liquid cooling charging system of the industry, our 800kW liquid cooling system adopts self-developed water cooler, rather than the conventional compressor scheme. Because there is no compressor, the overall energy conversion efficiency of the system is 1% higher than the industry. At the same time, the system can be connected to the energy storage battery cabinet through the DC bus to realize the DC storage and charging scheme, which is 4% -5% higher in efficiency than the conventional external AC energy storage cabinet. The all-liquid cooling energy storage supercharging system can be used in various charging stations with insufficient power distribution, and the charging efficiency is much higher than that in the industry, which is due to the accumulation of the full series of liquid-cooled modules and years of experience in thermal design technology. This liquid-cooled energy storage supercharging product has been widely recognized by the market. In the second half of the year, it has been batch shipped and deployed in supercharging stations across the country.
In November of the same year, Huawei full liquid-cooled supercharging system was put into operation in the Wuxi service area of Shanzhou-Zhanjiang Expressway. The system uses one liquid-cooled power supply cabinet with one liquid-cooled supercharging terminal and six fast charging terminals to provide a “one-one-kilometer per second” fast charging experience for current vehicles.
04 2023 is the year of full liquid cooling supercharging pile. In June, Shenzhen Digital Energy Exhibition, Shenzhen announced its own “supercharging city” plan: by the end of March 2024, no less than 300 public supercharging stations will be built, and the number ratio of “supercharging / refueling” will reach 1:1. In 2030, the supercharging stations will increase to 1000, and the construction of supercharging backbone network will be completed to achieve more convenient supercharging refueling.
In August, Ningde Times released the battery, “charging 10 minutes, 800 li”. So that the early only high-end models can be configured with the supercharged battery into the ordinary people can fly into the home. Subsequently, Chery announced that its Star Way Star era model will be equipped with Shenxing battery, becoming the first supercharged models equipped with Shenxing battery. Next, many car companies have also announced their own flagship supercharging models and supercharging network construction plans. In September, Tesla officially announced that it took 11 years from the launch of supercharging network construction in 2012 to September 2023, the number of supercharging piles worldwide exceeded 50,000, among which there were more than 10,000 full liquid-cooled supercharging piles in China.
On December 23, on NIO NIO Day, founder Li Bin released a new 640 kW all-liquid cooled supercharging pile. The charging pile has a maximum output power of 640 kW, a maximum output current of 765A and a maximum output voltage of 1000V. It will be deployed in April 24 and open to other brand models. Huawei Digital Energy in the 2023 World New Energy Vehicle Conference held in Haikou, it will work with customers and partners, plan to take the lead in 2024 to deploy more than 100,000 cities and major highways with full liquid cooled supercharging piles, to achieve “where there is a road, there is high-quality charging”. The revelation of this plan brings the feast to a climax.
05 The biggest problem facing the batch deployment of full liquid cooled supercharge is the distribution problem. The distribution of a 640kW liquid cooled charging system is equivalent to the distribution of a residential building; the construction of “supercharge city” in a city will be unbearable to the city. The ultimate solution to solve the problem of overcharging and distribution in the future is to overcharging and storage, and use battery storage to alleviate the impact of overcharging on the power grid. All-liquid-cooled supercharging and all-liquid-cooled energy storage are the best match. Compared with traditional air-cooled energy storage, liquid-cooled energy storage has the advantages of high reliability, long life, good consistency of cells, and high charge and discharge ratio. Like all liquid cold charging, all liquid cold energy storage technology threshold in liquid cold PCS, and power transformation module is the fly source strengths, in the development of liquid cold charging module, the fly source launched a full series of liquid cold rectification module, DCDC module, two-way ACDC module research and development, the current has formed a full series of liquid cold power transformation module product matrix, so can provide customers with all kinds of all liquid cold energy storage, charging products and solutions.
For all-liquid cooling overcharging and storage, we launched the full-liquid cooling 350kW / 344kWh energy storage system, which adopts liquid-cooled PCS + liquid-cooled PACK design, the charge and discharge rate can be stable by 1C for a long time, and the battery temperature difference is less than 3℃. Large rate charge and discharge can better increase the dynamic capacity of the overcharging equipment, reduce the impact on the power grid, and also realize a more efficient storage and charging strategy.
Full-liquid-cold energy storage system
Based on the full series of liquid-cooled electric energy conversion module product matrix, MIDA can realize various full liquid cooling solutions such as overcharging, energy storage, storage, optical storage, and V2G, leading the industry in technology and products.
