Classification of DC charging stations:

DC charging stations are classified according to different power levels, number of charging guns, structural forms, installation methods, etc.

1. According to the power level, charging piles are mainly divided into 30kW, 60kW, 120kW, 150kW, 180kW, 240KW and higher power charging piles

2. Classified according to charging guns: single gun and double gun. Currently, the mainstream is double gun, but of course, there can be more guns besides double gun; Dual gun charging stations can be divided into wheel charging and equalization charging. For example, a 180kW charging station, when only charging one vehicle, has a power of 180kW on one gun, which belongs to wheel charging; When charging two cars, the power on both guns is 90kW, which belongs to equal charging.

3. DC charging stations can be divided into integrated and split types according to their structural forms. Integrated means that all the constituent units of the charging station are integrated; The split type system separates the control unit, billing unit, charging interface, human-computer interaction interface, and other parts together. Except for the charging gun, these parts are all weak current circuits. The charging module of the power unit and the distribution circuit of the strong current part are centralized together.

DC charging pile structure:

The electrical part of a DC charging station consists of a main circuit and a secondary circuit. The input of the main circuit is three-phase AC power. After passing through an input circuit breaker and an AC smart energy meter, the charging module (rectifier module) converts the three-phase AC power into DC power that the power battery can accept. Then, the fuse and charging gun are connected to charge the on-board power battery of the electric vehicle. The secondary circuit is composed of a charging pile controller, card reader, touch screen, DC meter, etc. The secondary circuit also provides "start stop" control and "emergency stop" operation. The signal light provides "standby", "charging", and "fully charged" status indicators. The touch screen, as a human-computer interaction device, provides card swiping and charging mode settings. The controller sends instructions such as "power on, power off, output voltage, output current" to the charging module.

As a system integration product, the DC charging pile itself, in addition to the two components of "DC charging module" and "controller" forming the technical center, structural design is also one of the key points in the reliability design of DC charging piles. The "charging pile controller" belongs to the category of embedded hardware and software technology.
