With the changes in the new energy vehicle market and the increase in the number of new energy vehicles, many new energy vehicle owners have begun to choose household charging stations. But do you know how long it takes to fully charge an electric vehicle using a household charging station?
Household charging stations connected to single-phase electricity are generally divided into two types and specifications, with charging power of 3.5kW (220V, 16A) and 7kW (220V, 32A) respectively. If energy loss and charging efficiency are not considered, using these two types of household charging stations theoretically can charge 3.5 or 7 kWh of electricity per hour.
At present, the capacity of the power battery pack for new energy vehicles is constantly increasing. The battery capacity of each vehicle model also varies, and the time required to fully charge it also varies. For example, if the battery has a capacity of 45 kWh, using a 3.5kW household charging station, it takes between 12-13 hours to fully charge it without any charge; If a 7kW household charging station is used, it takes between 4-7 hours to fully charge. However, considering the energy loss and charging efficiency issues during actual charging, if a 3.5kW household charging station is used, the actual charging time is generally 13-15 hours; If a 7kW household charging station is used, it takes 7-8 hours to fully charge.
In addition, many new energy vehicles are also equipped with charging guns, and due to the relatively low power of the charging guns, the charging time often exceeds 13 hours. So the specific time for a car to be fully charged depends on the capacity of the car's own battery that can still be charged (for example, if the battery is fully charged at 45 degrees and there is still 30% electricity left, then the capacity that can be charged is 30 degrees, and only 30 degrees of electricity is needed to fully charge it) and the power consumption of the charging station. The formula for theoretically calculating charging time is: battery capacity/household charging station power=charging time.
